About this blog

This blog launched in March 2011, to create a place for my ideas that I can't really express in my daily job.

The theme is the Social Web, but that should be interpreted in the broadest sense, because I'm  since I myself am still wondering where it eventually will go. After a few posts, I found out that a blog has a mind of its own and sends you a direction that you previously could not have foreseen.

About Gijs van Dam

I live in Amsterdam and work in the city of Leiden, where I am the CEO of Mindbus, a full-service internet agency, which concerns itself with e-commerce projects.

I once started to study veterinary medicine and still take proud in the fact that I also finished it. (full disclosure: I never did my clerkship)

Despite my interest in the Social Web, I strongly favor to establish social interaction outside of the web, preferably in a pub or at the stands of a football stadium.
